Elements Night Club, Sea Bright, NJMCLOONE'S SUPPER CLUB
Asbury, NJ

Client Objective:
The client wanted to bring back the days of the Supper Club. The clubs were popular in the 1930's and 1940's. It was not unusual for clients to spend the entire evening starting with cocktails then enjoying dinner followed by night club entertainment that went long into the night.

Project Description:
The building that would become McLoone's Supper Club was once a Howard Johnson's that had been left vacant for over forty years. The building was stripped of any worthwhile architecture/detailing. The space was also challenging due to the fact that it is in the round. Yes, one big circle. With our client wanting a stage and dancing it was a challenge to create seating that would afford everyone a view of the entertainment while maintaining traffic flow and client comfort. We achieved all of this with very large Hollywood booths that surround the perimeter. Also, loose furniture that was typical of what you would have seen back in the 30's and 40's. We paid close attention to both dramatic lighting as well as functional lighting for the entertainment. All this coupled with a cool contemporary lobby and bar lounge has you back in time enjoying live entertainment in an elegant setting. The space has earned critical acclaim and has become a large contributor to the rebirth of Asbury Park's night life.
